The Realm of Here And Now, why it is so hard to reach
The moment or “Here and now” is far-fetched and nearly impossible to conceptualize for many people. They brush it off as ideas that arise in the minds of those ingesting something psychotropic. They think that the idea of existing without analyzing deducing and cataloging is impossible.
First, there is the internal dialogue to deal with constantly spinning on the carousel of memories, or on a rocketship toward the future never stopping and sometimes bypassing logic and reason and becoming disengaged from reality.
Second, we have the external stimuli relentless in its constant bombardment of information and deliverance of instantaneous gratification pleasing either the body or the mind
Third, we have the intellect; analyzing every minute and cataloging it so that all coincide properly to fit within our conventional worldview else we tend to freak out.
Fourth, there is the collaboration of the above causing even greater dislodgement from the moment. The external stimulus excites the intellect that then triggers the internal dialogue which then spins continuous webs of theories and assumptions.
With all this going on, it is not hard to understand the enormous effort that one must exert merely to become aware of such a mystifying place as here and now.
Let us assume that we address the internal dialogue through meditation, prayer, chanting, or some other method. We learn to quiet the mind perhaps for a few seconds or if we try hard maybe a minute. Wow, a minute is a long time for the internal dialogue to be quiet before we start struggling with the external stimuli or intellect creeping in.
Then let's say that we address the external stimuli by placing ourselves in a dark and soundproof room. We would still have to battle with trying to defuse all the previous accumulated particles attached and affecting us.
The intellect being capable of intellectualizing exterior of itself awards itself the power to define and dictate the moment. Being loyal to its master, the ego, it will do all in its power to avoid this place of here, and now for in such a place, its master cannot rule. This is ironic since it is due to the intellect itself that we stumble upon this mysterious realm in the first place.
It is general knowledge that this state of now, when entered either by a profound knowledge of meditation, a strong religious or spiritual discipline, a Psychotropic enhancement, or even trauma, is perceived as a different place one not found in the physical world. We can call it “ a different realm”, “a parallel world”, “ another dimension”, “a different energy level”, etc.etc. Moreover, when we try to conceptualize this place, we lose it and find ourselves back in the mercy of our ego.
Believe it or not, we travel to this other place which I term the consciousness world more often than we know. We have to, like breathing, we cannot do without it for too long a period. We go there secretly and quickly before the ego catches on and Bring back nourishment through the back door distributing it amongst the many ideas starving for new insight.
The artist may know all about paint and be able to create the perfect combination of color and texture and shadow and so forth with the knowledge that he or she may have acquired through schooling. However, the idea, the inspiration, and the vision come from this mysterious realm. Same with the composer he may be schooled well in the art of music but without a few visits to this place his compositions would be a mere jotting of notes that follow the rules and regulations that define a particular type of music. The scientist, Mathematician-philosopher all need to breathe from this consciousness world to bring life to their work else they would just contribute blah blah.
So in essence, The healing and inspirational powers available from this consciousness world are accessible by traveling through a portal located here and now.
